In 2000, Edit House Productions, LLC began as the first media production facility in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, located between Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
We have dozens of creative awards under our belts for post-production, art direction, cinematography, writing, directing, and producing. Edit House Productions and our full-service advertising agency, Ad House Advertising, the first New Mexico company to reach the status of Google Partner, produce integrated campaigns for dozens of local and regional companies.

Our 6,000 sq ft facility can accommodate a multitude of production needs.
We offer a full studio (approximately 2,000 sq ft with 400 amp electrical) with adjacent restroom/dressing area with color-temperature adjustable lighted mirror, jib, slider, sound, portable lighting, and other amenities. IFB connection for live news shots. A full editing suite with CAT 8 cabling (running 10gb network connection) is available, as is our crew of award-winning production staff. Available for hourly, daily, or long-term film studio rental, located near Highway 528 and Northern Blvd. in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, just north of Albuquerque. - Easy load-in with two large roll-up doors, wide enough for a vehicle, or separate keyed entrance. Private storage area available behind gated entrance. Fenced outdoor area with seating and access for craft services.
- With easy access to Albuquerque and Santa Fe, our studio has off-street parking and is accessible to semis for larger production needs. We’re set back on a quiet street with no heavy traffic.
- Our crew works with our in-house FX-9 Sony 4K cameras with 6K image sensors, 28-135mm f/4 G OSS e-mount lenses, LED panel and ring lights, a jib and slider, teleprompter, sound package, and other cool production accessories for production services.
- We offer easy, turnkey options for your production, including crew for hair and makeup, sound specialists, and a FAA-certified drone pilot.
- Our studio offers a 50-foot wall (13-foot ceilings), green screen, and moveable set walls. If you need office space for your temporary office or as a backdrop in which to film, props or furniture, we’ll help you find it. WiFi access, printers, and kitchen access is available.
- Bring your own equipment, rent from Albuquerque film equipment companies, or add our in-house field equipment and staff.

Edit House Productions has worked with major corporations like Pizza Hut, Cessna Aircraft, Rent-A-Center, and Sony Pictures Entertainment to produce and record major national and international content, as well as hundreds of locally owned businesses.
We value relationships with other advertising agencies and production companies who engage us for their commercial production or studio needs. We’ve consistently been among New Mexico’s top Film and Video Production companies since 2000. We can also provide raw video footage to clients and agencies looking for a New Mexico production company to record interviews, b-roll, and other elements, and provide that raw footage to another production facility.
A full editing suite with CAT 8 cabling (running 10gb network connection, no need for proxy files) is also available for visiting productions to edit and work remotely using our full line of Adobe Creative Cloud applications like Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Adobe Audition, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Our editing suite is just adjacent to our full production studio.

Matt Smith
Owner, Video Production Manager, Studio Manager, Director of Cinematography
Matt, quite literally, grew up around television production and began working for Edit House Productions, LLC at a young age. Matt attended CNM and today, he is an 11-time Telly Award winning editor. Matt has extensive knowledge of Adobe Premier Pro and motion graphics, directing, and cinematography.
Ed Smith
Owner, Producer, Director
Ed Smith has been in television since the 80s and began Edit House Productions, LLC in 2000. He grew up in Culver City, California, where he enjoyed hanging out with his father on the sets of MGM Studios. Ed has been awarded dozens of Addy, Telly and Aurora Awards for cinematography, directing, and art direction. Over the years, Ed has produced for Fortune 500 companies like Pizza Hut, Cessna Aircraft, Coleman, and Rent-A-Center.
Kim Smith
Owner, Producer/Writer
Kim Smith has been involved with production and has been awarded a number of Telly and Addy Awards as a writer and producer of commercials, web videos, and documentaries. She loves storytelling through video. Kim earned her MA and BA degrees in mass communication from the University of South Dakota before teaching film and production at several Kansas universities.
James Blackburn
Production Assistant
James Blackburn has more than 15 years of experience on both sides of the camera. James has worked on over 100 movies and TV shows, as an actor and behind the scenes. James has won 2 Rocky Mountain Regional Emmy Awards for his videography and editing. At Edit House, James assists with camera work, set up and tear down, monitoring sound, creating graphics, and video editing.
